World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
For example an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.
Home can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved following a reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it's possible that the item will be obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.
It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs and there are some rare Glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires a different amount of components to reach and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When a player upgrades a piece of equipment it is replaced by the new item. The same armor will be upgraded to an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can increase in price even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can use up many resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player continuously enters or exits water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the max roll by an increment of 10. This item is highly important in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of its non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each when you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial state and the player having to spend additional materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained like crit chance damage to attack, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will need to bring every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost listed above.
